Ms. Agins has substantial litigation experience in a wide variety of practices, including tort and criminal defense, medical and product liability, and D & O and Professional Liability. She received her Juris Doctor Degree in 1999 from Hofstra University School of Law. She graduated with Honors from Lehigh University in 1996, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Her honors thesis focused on how the media affects jury selection.
Early in her career, Ms. Agins had an internship with the Honorable Arthur D. Spatt, US District Judge, EDNY, where she researched various substantive legal issues and drafted judicial opinions for the Court. Thereafter, she served as a Staff Attorney for the Nassau County Legal Aid Society, where she represented indigent defendants in all phases of criminal proceedings, from inception to trial.
After leaving the public sector in 2002, Ms. Agins expanded her practice into all areas of civil litigation defense, ultimately focusing her practice on medical malpractice defense. Over the past several years, Ms. Agins has prepared dozens of malpractice cases for trial. Her efforts have led to several defense verdicts. Ms. Agins has also drafted and argued numerous motions for summary judgment and appeals, successfully leading to dismissals.
Ms. Agins, a former ski instructor, has a secondary interest in defending medical negligence and premises liability claims targeting ski areas and resorts.
In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, traveling, and theater. She also serves as Vice President of her co-op building in Manhattan, NY.
